DeMar DeRozan Signs with Chicago Bulls
3-Year, $81.9 Million Contract
DeMar DeRozan has signed a three-year, $81.9 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, including $81.9 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $27.3 million. The deal was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
DeRozan, 32, is a four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection. He spent the last three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 21.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. He shot 49.5% from the field and 38.3% from three-point range.
The Bulls are coming off a 46-36 season, in which they finished ninth in the Eastern Conference and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Milwaukee Bucks. DeRozan is expected to be a key part of the Bulls' offense, alongside Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.
DeRozan's signing is a significant addition for the Bulls, who are looking to make a run at the playoffs next season. He is a proven scorer and playmaker, and he should help the Bulls improve their offense. DeRozan is also a good defender, and he should help the Bulls improve their defense as well.
