Kessock Bridge on the A9 at Inverness reopens after emergency services incident
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1:10pm on Friday afternoon
The Kessock Bridge on the A9 at Inverness has reopened after being closed for several hours due to an emergency services incident.
The bridge was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Traffic was diverted via the A82 and A831, but the bridge has now reopened and traffic is flowing freely.
Police Scotland said that they were called to the bridge at around 1:10pm on Friday afternoon following reports of concern for a person.
Officers attended along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The person was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.
Police Scotland said that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Kessock Bridge is a major route into and out of Inverness, and its closure caused significant traffic disruption.
However, the bridge has now reopened and traffic is flowing freely.
