Rays' Taylor Walls: Rested and Ready for the Pirates
Rays' infielder Taylor Walls is set to return to the lineup Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates after missing the last two games with a bruised left hand.
Walls was injured Sunday when he was hit by a pitch from Baltimore Orioles reliever Dillon Tate. X-rays came back negative, and Walls is expected to make a full recovery.
Manager Kevin Cash said Walls is "feeling good" and is ready to play.
Walls is hitting .279 with two home runs and four RBIs in 21 games this season. He has been a valuable member of the Rays' infield, playing both shortstop and second base.
With Walls back in the lineup, the Rays will have their full complement of infielders available. Brandon Lowe is expected to start at shortstop, with Walls at second base and Wander Franco at third base.
