Portugal Opens UEFA Euro Campaign with Victory over Turkey
2-0 Victory Secures Three Points
Portugal kicked off their UEFA European Championship campaign with a 2-0 victory over Turkey on Thursday.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Portugal in the 53rd minute, tapping in a cross from Diego Costa. Nani added a second goal in the 78th minute, heading home a cross from Ricardo Quaresma.
The victory gives Portugal three points in Group A, while Turkey remains on zero points. Portugal will next face Austria on Tuesday, while Turkey will face Croatia.
